I searched through countless pictures of children's faces online for inspiration... I'm not usually quick on making decisions -- I like too many things. It gets to be a real problem. I typed in "child" on google images and started observing the faces. I searched for about 20 minutes. It had to be the perfect one. I thought I would know right away when I saw it, but there were several of them that caught my eye. When I narrowed down my options, it was even harder to choose! These were some of my top choices:

Besides these 3, there was one other choice that I had. It was a picture of a mother and her child, both smiling. I decided to do a 'practice sketch' of the picture. I took my time and spent about 30 minutes drawing up a small version of the picture. I was VERY smart to have done that, because I did not like the way that it came out... half of it, at least.

I think I did a great job on the baby. It looks adorable! :)
The mom, on the other hand... looks kinda like a witch.
